Who we are
Candle Confessional is operated by JJ Functional Training Pty Ltd, 18/65-67 Coogee Bay Rd, Coogee NSW 2034, Australia. We are the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us about anything in this policy at theo@candleconfessional.com.
This policy covers this website and our email list.
What we collect when you join our list
- your email address
- a record of your consent: the exact wording you agreed to, and when you subscribed, confirmed and unsubscribed
- the IP address and browser details each of those steps came from, as evidence of that consent
We don't buy email lists, and we don't add anyone who hasn't signed up and confirmed themselves.
If you apply for the beta tester program
We record that you applied, and email you asking for your full name, a phone number, the assets you trade and roughly how many trades you take a day. Replying is up to you. We use your answers only to choose beta testers and to contact you about the beta, and applying doesn't guarantee a place.
Tell us at any time and we'll delete your application and your answers.
What we use it for
We use your email address to send product updates, launch news and occasional marketing about Candle Confessional. Our legal basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box and confirming the email we send you. You can withdraw it at any time.
We never sell your email address or share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Who processes it for us
Your details are stored by our hosting provider, and we may use a third-party email delivery or email marketing service to send our emails. These providers act only on our instructions, under a data processing agreement. Some of them may store data outside your country; where they do, we rely on the safeguards the law requires, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- If you never confirm your sign-up, we delete it after 30 days.
- While you're subscribed, we keep your details for as long as we run the list.
- If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a suppression list only so that we never email you again by mistake. Ask us and we'll erase it completely.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, erase it, or stop using it. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email us. We'll respond within a month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to your local data protection authority, such as the ICO in the UK, your national supervisory authority in the EU, the OAIC in Australia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in Canada.
Cookies
This page sets only the cookies the site needs to work, such as the one that protects forms from forgery. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Children
Our list isn't intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If it's a significant change, we'll tell you by email before it applies.
